This Too Shall Pass

The popular phrase in this title is so simple yet so profound. This too shall pass.  It really does.  Sometimes it takes a little longer than others, but it does pass.  And it remains true for both the good feelings and the difficult emotions. 

This one along with the additional quotes on the following list help me tremendously:

1. Feelings aren’t facts. 

2. You don’t need to have all the answers today.

3. Take what you can use, and leave the rest.

4. You are not responsible for your first thought, but you are responsible for your first action. 

Similar to my favorite music list and my life, this post will probably also be a work in progress! 

But just for today, these common phrases help me keep moving forward, without getting stuck in the proverbial quicksand of my overwhelming emotions and stress-inducing future fears. 
On this day I am incredibly thankful for wisdom and guidance from trusted people and literature that reminds me to Be Still. 

Some days there are simply not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs to be done.  For me, this is one of those days.  Feeling overwhelmed, and not with gratitude this time.  

Therefore I will do what I’ve been taught and continue to place one foot in front of the other taking the next indicated step in front of me and sorting through one case at a time until I can eventually see the metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel. I will also remind myself that whatever I am unable to complete today will most likely still be there waiting for me tomorrow.  

 I will use my God-given intuition to prioritize which tasks are the most urgent and need to be placed on the top of this heaping pile.  I will survive one situation at a time and continue to breathe the Serenity Prayer throughout the day as I continue on this path. 

There is great peace, comfort, and relief in knowing my FINAL destination; and knowing that for now it is not about finding my Happy Destiny; rather it is about the spiritual growth and JOURNEY along the way.
