For those of you who may not already know this fun fact about me, I am obsessed with music. Truth is I enjoy a variety of genres from classical to [some] rap and most music in between.
Today the one playing on repeat in my head is a 90s song by Jars of Clay called
*Love Song for a Savior.*
This particular ballad holds so much sentimental value personally. It’s as if they wrote the lyrics just for me. The music video is just as special and well worth your time to watch it, in my humble opinion.
In a World filled with animosity and disgust toward organized religion and conservative politics… sometimes with good reason after suffering personal injury or harm at the hands of “trusted servants”; I find the ethereal imagery and story of this poetry in motion* to be intoxicating, inviting, hopeful, beautiful, and my truth beyond any shadow of a doubt.
Not only do I want to fall in love with YOU [Jesus]… I already am madly, deeply, irrevocably, truly in love with YOU, my Savior.
And it has more to do with the wild flowers than organized religion (although I find tremendous value there as well.)
More song lyrics that I highly recommend for a healing, restorative, musical therapy session filled with 1 Corinthians 13 Faith, Hope, and LOVE is ANY song by Tenth Avenue North.
Praise and Blame:
Obviously the selfie above is highly filtered, so here’s one that (although still uses a filter) looks a lot more like the real me today.
