Confidently claiming God’s Promises today. *
…”In reading of the Bible, a task which took him a year and a half, Storms came up with a grand total of 8,810 promises (7,487 of them being promises made by God to humankind.” Published in a study from Pepperdine here: https://digitalcommons.pepperdine.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1769&context=leaven

The song EVIDENCE by Josh Baldwin is playing in my head
as I type this love letter to you.
To be clear, the enhanced “selfie” avatar by Lensa app photo at the top of this page followed by more below are NOT evidence of God’s promises in fulfillment.
However, they are evidence of this fallen world trying to satisfy our needs with water that ultimately doesn’t quench our thirst...
John 4 Living Water is the only eternal thirst quencher that truly satisfies.
Selah.

Whether through an expansive, expensive array of beauty enhancing products or face/body altering spa/medical/surgical procedures, or filters that temporarily offer similar cheaper “benefits” …
our quest for attaining the fountain of youth, fantasy images, and perfection by the standards of this fallen world persists.
I fear we risk psychological dissociation from engaging in this virtual fantasy life to excess…
“Higher preexisting levels of dissociation and a tendency to become more easily absorbed or immersed were associated with higher increases in dissociative symptoms resulting from VR immersion.”

The first line of this post continues in this way:*Confidently claiming God’s Promises today including being Jeremiah 1:5 set apart and clinging tightly to Jeremiah 29:11 knowing He will not harm me, but will instead prosper me and give me hope for a future. Set apart means NOT following the social media trends of this world.
Yet here I am jumping onto the bandwagon of filtering apps potentially insulting and offending my God by inadvertently irreverently telling Him what YOU created isn’t good enough.
Essentially saying, as actions often speak louder than words, I am not satisfied with the work you have done here Lord.

Perhaps the reason I have succumbed to this nonsense was precisely for the purpose of driving this point home in this post.
There is one GOD. I am not Him. It is a dangerous game to play GOD and act like we know better.
Consider the Tower of Babel found in Genesis chapter 11– or the Garden of Eden story about the fall of mankind in the first 3 chapters of Genesis.
Whenever we as human beings think we know more than God, there will be consequences for our actions. We will be held accountable.

Proceed with caution Brothers and Sisters.
And YES, I am preaching to myself most of all.
Father, please forgive me for insulting the goodness of your Psalm 139:14 work here in me. For I know full well that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
And I know that YOU don’t make mistakes.
I Love YOU with all of my heart, mind, body, and soul. Praying only for the knowledge of Your Will for me and the power to carry it out one day at a time in the powerful name of Jesus—
Amen.
