Do not boast about tomorrow or yourself… Proverbs 27 on November 27, 2022
Confession time as I tell on myself once again at the end of today’s YouTube video (link above) …
for operating on autopilot mode mindlessly tapping on the facebook app and liking a friend’s post;
instead of fearfully respecting GOD and the Sabbath by mindfully fasting from social media.
As a reminder, I allow myself 3 forms of social media ONLY on Sundays:
1. This blog
2. YouTube Grateful Gwen Channel
3. Snapchat with my kids
Part of our devotional readings this morning while slowly sipping coffee that my loving husband graciously, humbly serves to me (his queen) in bed included this verse from Proverbs.
Another queen (my mom) seated up front with my husband in the picture above.
Cherishing these rare precious slow rise mornings where we can confess our weaknesses, hold each other biblically accountable, cultivate our safe place sanctuary and most importantly praise and worship our Almighty Creator.
Unrelated side note:
Yesterday I made a Fb post and an IG story related to “The Game” Ohio State vs. Michigan.
It may have seemed a bit out of character for me, as I do not claim to be a huge sports enthusiast.
Please humor me by allowing me to explain why this UCLA Bruin alumnus would find such a game to be post-worthy.
First of all my husband shares a namesake with the Michigan wide receiver Cornelious Johnson CJ who scored a few touchdowns for his hometown college.
And secondly my parents were originally from and married in Ohio before moving out to California where I have lived my entire life so far.
Sports are an integral part of my family history and present reality;
and in my opinion provide a lot of good,
as long as they are kept in the proper perspective—- GOD first.
Sabbath
