October 4, 1958 my parents were married in Ohio, USA.
They would be celebrating 64 years of wedded bliss today, if my Dad was still with us here in the flesh.
Sadly, that is not the case.
But there is still cause for CELEBRATION today my friends!
I have no doubt that IF my Dad was still with us in his fraile mortality, my parents would still be faithfully devoted to one another in their marriage to this day, 64 years later.
Because that is the kind of Ephesians 5 💗
1 Corinthians 13 marriage they enjoyed.
My parents were not perfect.
But their love, loyalty, adoration, and consistent personal submission/sacrifices for one another reflected Christ's love for His Bride, the Church.
The marriage modeled for me throughout my life, was clearly built on a solid foundation!
Matthew 7:24-27
New Living Translation
Building on a Solid Foundation
24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Thankful for my marriage today that is built on a solid Christ-Centered foundation as well.
