Like the majority of people I choose to follow;
I post all the cute, happy, fun, filtered, entertaining, uplifting, encouraging, positive vibes only kinda content most of the time.

However, it’s equally important to keep it real, raw, unfiltered, and honest to demonstrate the reality of the insidious damage that overlooking subtle habits can cause over time.

There are several metaphors that can be drawn from this particular analogy of the damage caused to our marital bed by this healthy, normal, expected need for our Beloved Panther Dez to sharpen his claws for his own defense, self-preservation, and God-given predatorial instinctual nature.

 He’s a beast.

No doubt about it.

The results are not my favorite.

The ugly truth makes me a little pouty at the prospect of not being able to own nice furniture in the future.

Yes, he has a designated scratching post.

Yes, we lock him out of our room whenever we’re not home.

Yes, there are other options to consider such as having him declawed somewhere that still offers that practice— or not owning a cat.

But this post isn’t about the cat and his need to destroy stuff throughout our home.

This entry is about keeping it real.

It’s about turning a blind eye to the destructive behaviors that are not only accepted, but are in all actuality celebrated in our culture.

For the purposes of my ultimate Faith Walk which in essence is to LOVE GOD LOVE PEOPLE — I will not be calling out specific sins or sinners here.

There is a GOD.  Am I am not Him. So it’s not my job to cast stones or judgment.  Especially since I am clearly not without sin myself:
John 8

What you choose to allow into your heart, mind, body, and soul is between you and your Maker.

It is none of my business.

What you think of me is also none of my business.

On the other hand, what I choose to expose myself to and fill my eyes, thoughts, mind, body, heart, and spirit with is very much my business and is between myself and my Savior.

This may mean blocking some insidious influences from my life.

This may require a retreat in the wilderness unplugged to walk with the Lover of my Soul.

This may mean finding a quiet place where he maketh me to lie down in green pastures, leadeth me beside the still waters, and restoreth my soul [Psalm 23].

Currently, actively praying for our lost, broken nation, and our corrupt, violent, selfish, lustful, greedy, immoral world; while on my knees in repentant surrender thanking God for redemption and salvation.

Thank You God that I am surrounded by this beautiful creation of yours, but also Not Of This World:

This is how I fight my battles.

It may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by YOU [GOD]!

By the way, we adore our furry, feral, rescue Dezmanian 😈 kitty 🐈‍⬛!  In exchange for his not-so-pleasant behaviors, he provides hours of entertainment, laughter, joy, fun, affection, warmth, love, purrs, and appreciation for the compassionate (now semi-tattered) home we provide.

Life is full of choices.

Choose Wisely.
