Faith Like a Child

It is not at all uncommon for a Pastor to offer up an “Altar Call” at an Easter Church Service.

So it was no surprise when our beloved Pastor Daniel did exactly that yesterday about 3/4 of the way through his message.

What was a bit surprising was the fact that first timers were asked to stand up and shout out “I Believe!” *** Romans 10:9

THIS is BOLD FAITH at its finest!

We were overwhelmed and marveled at the courage it took for all of these individuals to stand up and shout the words in front of hundreds of people!

Daniel went on to share with us about an 8 year old the Saturday night before who had walked all the way up on the stage with him (against his parents protests) and stated his “I BELIEVE!”

Pastor Daniel went on to say it will now always be one of favorite Easter weekend memories.

Prior to this poignant moment filled with tears of joy, our pastor preached a sermon entitled UNBELIEVABLE beginning with the two definitions.

1. Simply can not be believed.
2. Surprisingly True!

Later on he shared this passage from

1 Corinthians 15:

19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

With Billions of Believers wandering around this wonderful wicked world of ours…

The Resurrection story of Easter

 is either

a) the greatest hoax of all time…

b) the greatest event of all time.

Which one is it for you?

You must choose.

You must make a decision.

No decision is a decision!

To say I don’t know or I don’t care

Think about it.

So what’s it gonna be?

Will you have bold faith like that 8 year old little boy?

Or will you continue to ignore the call and walk away?

In Matthew 18, Jesus tells us “whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Having faith like a child requires putting aside our will. This way our opinions and misconceptions do not get in the way of trusting Christ wholeheartedly.
***Romans 10:9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

So we can all agree that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is UNBELIEVABLE!

But which kind is it for you?

1. Can not be believed [too good to be true]
2. Surprisingly [AMAZINGLY] TRUE?

May you find peace with your final destination decision loved ones.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord make Me an instrument of Your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness joy.
O Divine master grant that I may
Not so much seek to be consoled as to console
To be understood, as to understand.
To be loved. as to love
For it's in giving that we receive
And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it's in dying that we are born...
To eternal life
